Iteration2 has developed functionality for Microsoft Dynamics AX that integrates features unique to the packing, cooling and transportation of fruits and vegetables from the field to their final destination.  Here are just a few areas Iteration2 is addressing grower requirements.

 

• Grower accounting, by definition, is reporting and posting shipped product data and maintaining the many data structures that support it.  Iteration2, using the inherent flexibility of Microsoft Dynamics AX, has developed a cost-effective, tightly integrated and collaborative solution to handle this process at all levels; what constitutes a deal; what are the associated charges & how are these charges structured; what items are combined with other items in the formation of the average price pool; and how items are combined for reporting purposes.  What results is a “settlement” to growers for the proceeds from the sale of product less any applicable fees. 

• Microsoft Dynamics AX has full lot tracking capabilities needed in the fruit and vegetable industry.  Upon receipt of goods, a lot number is allocated based on the lot number control, to the receipt, enabling the system to track the receipt and all the associated information throughout the system.  This lot number will stay with the goods throughout the system until finally sold.  Then any criteria of the contract can be used to track the goods through the system, enabling more detailed tracking.

• Packers & shippers that handle perishable commodities require special inventory features, such as assigning growers, grower lots and the use of pallet tags.  Inventory control and identification is a key component to any system in the industry for accurate grower settlements..  Profits are enhanced by knowing exactly what you have available for sale and by controlling shrinkage.  Microsoft Dynamics AX’s fully integrated system allows for inventory to be maintained at various levels and are updated interactively real-time.
